I feel really dumb for asking this, but um... what exactly IS Yuletide? With a capital Y 'n all. I've been hearing people talk about it nonstop, but I actually have no idea of what it is besides the fact that it has something to do with fanfiction.

Date: 2012-12-25 10:28 am (UTC)Yuletide in the fannish sense is a fanfic exchange that takes place each year around the winter holidays: it's for new and/or tiny fandoms that don't get many fics otherwise, so Yuletide is when the participants can ask for a fanfic specifically written for them and then write one in turn for another participant. It was originally hosted on Yuletide Treasure but can now be found the the Yuletide collection at the AO3.
